See It From Different Perspectives
Instantly arrange architectural photographs by date built to view homes in the order they were built. Take an architectural tour to view buildings ordered by style rather than location or address. Sorting photographs along a timeline reveals interesting juxtapositions of the built environment for your community.
Most timelines organize information by a specific date. But what happens when we want to organize information based on a building height, FAR, or architectural style? What if we want to show a specific characteristic over time?
When you group images by architectural style, for instance, you can see all the buildings of the same style organized by the context of style date. When you group by date built, you can immediately view the progression of housing types by construction date.
Another way to organize images is by a number such as height or density. Images can be sorted by a value along the timeline. This enables you to view photographs along a time based continuum. It could reveal trends in population density or changes to zoning.
Groupings according to when, how, where, and how tall each reveal their own meaning. The photograph reveals the visual image while the timeline reveals forces shaping a place over time.
